According to the Ministry of Health, about 6,000 people have been vaccinated against Covid-19 so far. Unlike Germany, there is no daily updated data in Austria and there is currently no breakdown of individual federal states. The Ministry of Social Affairs initially only promises “regular updates”, as well as an improvement in the quality of the data with the start of large-scale vaccination from 12 January.
The government had organized the first vaccines on December 27 and ensured that they would start simultaneously in all federal states, even if only a few doses of vaccines were available for each country. It is currently unclear how many doses were vaccinated in the countries. There are no exact figures at the moment.
In January 63,000 cans per week
On Wednesday, the Ministry of Social Affairs only published the number of around 6,000 people who received vaccinations in all of Austria. 53,000 more doses of the Biontech Pfizer vaccine are expected by the end of this week and 63,000 doses per week in January. This will supply all nursing homes and nursing homes as well as hospital Covid stations starting on January 5. Orders are made through the electronic store of the Federal Acquisitions Company. Large-scale vaccinations in nursing homes and Covid stations should start from January 12.

In response to a request from the APA, the reason for the lack of a more precise breakdown was that the corresponding quality of the data had not yet been assured. According to the Ministry of Social Affairs, this should change as of January 12, when large-scale vaccinations begin and the corresponding “vaccination network” is established.
In Germany, on the other hand, the Robert Koch Institute is already publishing updated vaccination data at the state level. Consequently, as of December 29, 41,962 vaccinations were carried out. According to Health Minister Jens Spahn, there are now more than 60,000.
