Innerhofer and Paris hope to make amends when they leave the Stelvio.
Dominik Paris, who lost more than two seconds to the American winner of the day at the Super-G Ski World Cup in Bormio, was not happy. Even if Ultental’s potency was the best azure athlete, 18th place was anything but satisfying. Paris, who has already won six times at Stelvio, said he still lacks the obvious and that not everything goes like clockwork. If you push yourself to the limit, mistakes can happen. And those who make mistakes waste time. However, the 31-year-old wants to remain optimistic about today’s game. Skiing, and that’s an advantage, is getting better and better.
Christof Innerhofer is also disappointed. The seasoned ski racer from South Tyrol took ungrateful 31st place in the Bormio Super-G. So he didn’t get any points from the World Cup. Furthermore, the 36-year-old from Val Pusteria landed in a range well below his own expectations. Innerhofer said his top-down career was a disaster and nothing turned out right.
Furthermore, South Tyrol could not find anything positive. He couldn’t even call his ride skiing. This has never happened to him in the last decade and a half. Hope remains for an increase in performance in the context of today’s downhill on the icy hard road. According to his own information, the Pusterer has to train much more in the Super-G. Hopefully the harsh self-criticism gives way to a good result tomorrow. So the experienced athlete can confidently look at the new year.
It would be desirable for both ski riders who already know what it’s like to win downhill on the Stelvio. And anyone who knows Paris and Innerhofer knows that he wants to drive better today and hopefully finish his last race in 2020 successfully and most of all in good health.
