Stefan Kraft as “Nackerpatzl” for the Four Hills Tournament
Stefan Kraft presents himself as a “lucky bag” at the Four Hills Tournament that starts Monday. After health problems, Austria’s best ski jumper in recent years has lowered his expectations for the prestigious competition. “It is clear that I will come to the tour as a Nackerpatzl. It was certainly far from the preparation I would have wanted,” Kraft said.
The overall winner of the World Cup from the previous season disputes the second highlight of the season after the World Ski Flying Championships lost after a mandatory twelve-day break with no competition pace. Recently at least a handful of training jumps were possible in Seefeld. “I just wanted to test once if everything held up and how my body reacts,” Kraft told the APA – Austrian Press Agency.
The signals sent are positive. “I think I took a very good path with a lot of talk, a lot of therapy and a lot of empathy with my body.” The concept of therapy for your back problems is consistent, even if there is no panacea. “Structurally everything is in order. There are just muscle imbalances that have built up over the years and this year the bubble burst.”
