At the end of matchday 28 of the ICE Hockey League, HC Bozen forced EC Red Bull Salzburg to their knees 2-0 (0-0, 2-0, 0-0).
The South Tyrolese put enormous pressure on the Mozartstadters defense from the very first meeting, but RBS goalkeeper Jesper Eliasson, who is on JP Lamoureux’s goal, can excel on several top occasions. So it goes with a 0-0 in the first break.
Goal span is broken in the middle third: Brett Findlay (30th) takes home team to the front after ideal preparatory work from Dustin Gazley, Anthony Bardaro may rise to 2-0 after poor pass from RBS captain Thomas Raffl (35 °).
The last third is clearly dominated by the “policemen” who continue to appear in front of Bolzano goalkeeper Andreas Bernard, but cannot defeat the Italian. Raffl, who misses his penalty shot at the HCB goalkeeper (50th), has the best chance for the next goal.
In the end, Bozen brings the victory in time and can be rehabilitated by the bankruptcy of the VSV. The South Tyrolese take the lead from Fehervar, hold out in the event of a draw with the Magyars (51 points each), but have played five fewer games.
Salzburg must take the third consecutive bankruptcy, has 33 points and is in seventh position.
