Great success of the Vienna COVID holiday tests. So far 66,968 Viennese have tried it.

Since December 18, 66,968 Viennese have used the free offer for COVID holiday testing. The city of Vienna handled the biggest rush to date for the Vienna holiday tests on December 23 and 24. In these two days alone, 30,824 Viennese underwent a rapid antigen test at the Austria Center (drive-in and walk-in) or on the test lane near the Ernst Happel stadium. By January 7, 2021, 105,590 Viennese had already booked an appointment. A lot also happened in the 20 cold checkboxes in Vienna. A total of 12,396 Viennese have used this COVID-19 screening option since December 18: 85 rapid antigen tests showed positive results and were retested with the Vienna gurgling test.

In the period from December 18, 2020 to December 24, 2020 inclusive, 127 of the 66,968 rapid antigen tests performed were positive and were retested with the Viennese gurgling test. Including official PCR tests, exactly 121,048 tests were carried out in Vienna from December 18 to 24, 2020. That equates to an average of 17,293 tests per day, a historical record in the federal capital.

The city’s trial offer is also open after the holidays; many appointment spaces available

The test facilities at the Austria Center and on the test lane at the Ernst Happel stadium are also open to all Viennese after Christmas and can also be used multiple times. In this way, urban test offerings are still equipped for higher races. Take advantage of the offer even after you return from Christmas holidays, before and after New Year’s Eve, before returning to work and during the Orthodox Christmas festival. For example, from December 25 to next Sunday, 38,403 exam dates are still available and can be reserved at any time. We ask all Viennese to make use of these free trial dates before going back to work on Monday. All information on the Vienna test offers is available at a glance at coronavirus.wien.gv.at
