At lunchtime Thursday, the country’s panel shows 54 new infections since midnight. During the same period, 81 people were reported to have recovered. In Vorarlberg, 1,290 people are currently infected with the corona virus.
Four more people died from the corona virus on Wednesday. This brings the death toll in Vorarlberg to 206.
The Christmas tests got off to a good start. According to state information available to VOL.AT, the first 5,000 people were tested on Wednesday.

Most of the Covid cases still exist in Dornbirn (199). Currently 14 municipalities in Vorarlberg are “crown free”.
Situation in hospitals
Currently, 77 COVID-19 patients are being treated as inpatients.
On Wednesday, 5 people with COVID-19 were admitted to hospitals. A total of 68 COVID-19 patients are being cared for as inpatients.
There are 205 normal beds for COVID-19 patients, 150 of which are still available. In addition, 200 regular beds have been prepared for COVID-19 patients at the Dornbirn emergency care center. 13 people could be discharged from the hospital.
A total of 59 beds are available for intensive medical treatment of patients. 13 COVID-19: Patients currently need to be treated in the intensive care unit. In addition, 21 non-Covid patients receive intensive care. There are currently 25 intensive care beds available for all patient groups.
54 employees tested positive for Corona, 18 are also in quarantine.
Seven-day incidence
According to the crown board of the Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES), Vorarlberg has the third highest value of all Austrian federal states after Carinthia and Salzburg with the incidence of seven days per 100,000 inhabitants. With 175 new infections (after 183 on Tuesday), the value in Vorarlberg fell on Wednesday, but still above the Austrian average.
The Austrian average of the seven-day incidence was 157 on Wednesday.
With seven-day incidents between 154 and 206, none of the four Vorarlberg districts are currently in the top 20.
