In an interview, Chancellor Sebastian Kurz reveals that the crown test must take place for a week after the third closing.
On Sunday night, Chancellor Sebastian Kurz spoke about the corona measures announced on Friday, their implementation and how things will proceed afterwards. Anyone who participates in the mass tests after the third blockade and is Corona-negative, acquires special rights for one week. These include, for example, shopping in stores, no curfew, and visiting restaurants. This should be handled very pragmatically, as Chancellor Kurz explains.
Everyone has to carry the test result with them wherever they go so that they can show it to staff or the police in case of control. At least for the week after the massive tests, Kurz told oe24.
No more massive testing
When asked about more rounds of massive testing, Kurz did not respond affirmatively to this suggestion. Instead, “a permanent testing structure is maintained for all individuals who must be tested regularly.” These include, for example, employed persons with customer contact or caregivers.
Even if the test is just a snapshot, it is the only way to prevent schools from closing again. Because this is the only way to find infected people who would not have been found otherwise.
In any case, the Chancellor paints an extremely positive picture of summer, usually the time after the first vaccination. The administration of the first dose will be the starting signal for the “victory over the pandemic”.
Ski lift vs U-Bahn
“I admit that I am of the opinion that we urgently need this closure,” said Sebastian Kurz. But the ski areas are still open and gondolas and ski lifts are allowed to take people up the mountains. Bottom line: I was “here for a pretty strict approach.”
But it is necessary to create opportunities for outdoor sports. Vienna, for example, campaigned for ice skating, other federal states for skiing. Therefore, outdoor sports are generally allowed. In Vienna you can take the metro to ice skating, in Carinthia you can take the chairlift up the mountain to ski.
