Vienna (OTS) – So far there have been 338,854 positive results in Austria. As of today (December 20, 2020, 9:30 a.m.), 5,351 people in Austria have died as a result of the coronavirus and 303,213 have recovered. Currently 2,887 people are in hospital treatment due to the coronavirus and 475 of them are in intensive care units.
New infections since the last report are distributed among the Austrian federal states as follows:
Burgenland: 23
Carinthia: 146
Lower Austria: 314
Upper Austria: 239
Salzburg: 145
Steiermark: 218
Tyrol: 124
Vorarlberg: 141
Vienna: 295
The Ministry of Health dashboard is operated by the Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES) and can be accessed at the URL covid19-dashboard.ages.at. The dashboard extracts its data exclusively from the Epidemiological Population Registry (EMS) and is updated once a day at 2:00 pm EMS is the official registry that the district authorities and laboratories enter. The Federal Ministry of the Interior collects the figures as part of the coordination of state crisis and disaster management in the Operations and Coordination Center (EKC) through a videoconference; These figures may contain cases that are not yet registered in the SGA.
