Robert Winkler achieved once again the best result from a red-white-red point of view in the second sprint of the World Cup in Arosa (SUI) on Wednesday! After finishing sixth in the first race, the Styrian was also in the second decision in the small final, in which he was fourth and finished eighth overall. The men’s victory was for the Swede Viktor Andersson ahead of the Swiss Ryan Regez, the Canadian Kevin Drury and the winner of the previous day David Mobärg (SWE).

“If they had offered me two top 8 finishes before the races, I would have taken them. I am satisfied with the services I have provided here. Only nuances were missing for today’s grand final. In the semi-finals I got caught between Kevin Drury’s skis and had to wait a moment to see what would happen in the next few meters. As a result, I lost a bit of the rhythm that I needed to reach the final. In the small final, I took another total risk to regain one position or another, but unfortunately that did not work out. But the bottom line was that I had a good performance on both days, ”said Robert Winkler.

As the second best Austrian, Salzburg’s Adam Kappacher finished fourth in his quarter-final series at 13th place. Austrian top Daniel Traxler and Styrian Sandro Siebenhofer finished third in their 16-round round at 17th place. For Johannes Aujesky , Johannes Rohrweck, Thomas Mayrpeter and Frederic Berthold, the end came in the last 64, so the quartet finished in the end. Shared 33 place.

In the women’s category, Katrin Ofner came in 17th after Styria, like the day before, was back in the round of 16. Swiss Fanny Smith celebrated her 24th World Cup victory ahead of Canadian Marielle Thompson and compatriot Talina Gantenbein.

The Skiers World Cup will now move to Val Thorens, France, where two races will be scheduled on Saturday and Sunday (December 19-20, 2020).
