126 people died with a corona infection in 24 hours.
In Austria, the number of new corona infections rose again to more than 3,000: in 24 hours (starting at 9.30am), 3,241 people tested positive for Sars-CoV-2. 126 people died with a corona infection during this period, according to figures from the Ministry of the Interior and Health.
New infections within 24 hours by federal state:
- Burgenland: 75,
- Carinthia: 175,
- Lower Austria: 643,
- Upper Austria: 637,
- Salzburg: 274,
- Steiermark: 491,
- Tyrol: 248,
- Vorarlberg: 120 and
- Vienna: 578.
So far there have been a total of 319,822 positive results. So far, 4,415 people in Austria have died as a result of the coronavirus; 277,883 have been recovered. On Saturday (as of 9:30 a.m.), 3,599 people were in hospital treatment due to the coronavirus, 591 of them in intensive care units.
Thus, there was a decrease in the number of hospitalized people by 52 people, but the number of intensive care patients increased by 19. In the last seven days, the number of patients in hospitals decreased by a total of 278 people .
The 3,241 new infections were also high compared to the last seven days, where the average was lower with 2,733 positive tests per day. However, the incidence of seven days per 100,000 inhabitants in Austria was slightly reduced to a value of 215 (previous day: 217.2).
The seven-day incidence of corona deaths is currently 7.4, meaning 7.4 people per 100,000 people died as a result of an infection in the last week. This value remains clearly the highest in Carinthia, where the incidence of deaths in seven days is 12.8. Across Austria, a total of 658 deaths were reported in the last seven days.
