PRVA and BMWD organized an award ceremony compatible with Covid-19

Vienna (OTS) The Federal Ministry for Digitization and Business Localization, together with the Public Relations organizer Verband Austria (PRVA), awarded the State Prize for Public Relations for the 37th time as the highest state award for outstanding achievements in public relations, despite the circumstances extraordinary. The SOS Children’s Villages ’30 Years of Children’s Rights’ campaign received this year the coveted state award for public relations: masks and safety concept at the award ceremony.

The winning project is a perfect combination of media work, communication on social media and a very special CSR event: Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen invited the children to a sleepover at the presidential office to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. The strategy of not only talking about children’s rights, but also having the children themselves explain them in videos was also consistent. With this skillful combination of public relations measures, maximum media attention was achieved on a small budget and the SOS Children’s Village engaged sustainably on the complex issue of children’s rights.

Dipl.-Ing. Michael Esterl, Secretary General of the Federal Ministry for Digitization and Business Location, congratulated the winner of the “State PR Prize” and all the winners of the particular category and also presented the two special prizes.

Daniela Gissing and Teresa Melissa Pichler from ikp Wien GmbH received the fifth “Austrian Young PR Award”, which recognizes a public relations concept for the non-profit organization “AmberMed”, for their project “What if …?” .

Wien Energie GmbH was honored for the idea and implementation of “#Energiebringer – Vienna city life digitally in the living room” with the special “Corona” award for public relations projects related to the Corona crisis, which it was announced this year.

“The State Prize for Public Relations is given in difficult times. But it is precisely these times that make us aware of the importance of communication to get out of this crisis well together. That is why professional public relations is gaining importance right now. The excellent public relations work not only helps to help in crisis situations, but also strengthens Austria as a business place as a whole ”, summarizes General Secretary Esterl.

“Due to the pandemic, we were unfortunately unable to hold our traditional public relations gala to celebrate the winners together with their industry colleagues,” explains the President of the Austrian Public Relations Association (PRVA), Julia Wippersberg. “The Austrian communications industry has demonstrated once again, and much more, what it can do and the value it can generate for companies and organizations with internal and external communication. With the very good quality, a total of 92 presentations, our industry has shown that it is strategic, creative and flexible even in difficult times ”, said the president of PRVA.
