After a series of breakdowns in the federal registry platform for massive corona tests, Mayor Luger pulls the thread and relies on his own IT solution.
LINZ. It has already become apparent, now it is fixed: Linz relies on its own IT solution developed with the state of Upper Austria for online registration for massive corona tests. The step is justified by a “data chaos” in the Ministry of Health. Mayor Klaus Luger (SPÖ) sees his concerns expressed last week confirmed. “For several months now, Minister Anschober has shown us almost every day that he attaches great importance to self-expression. His crisis management, on the other hand, became more inferior day by day, and the impression is that he and his team are simply overwhelmed with the actual work at the Ministry of Health. ” Luger says.
Master on site one day before
As an example of the data chaos, Luger cites the sign-up option for educators, which is being tested this weekend. The platform was opened too early. As non-educators have also signed up, 60,000 appointments were granted instead of the 28,000 planned. This would cause a traffic jam on the test road. Appointments have also been made for today, December 4, although the tests will not begin until Saturday. At 8 in the morning, the teachers with reserved spaces were in front of the Design Center, where the tests are being carried out.
“Fortunately, there are at least true professionals working here on site. The military, the Red Cross, the Samaritan Association and thousands of volunteers have already done an excellent job in preparation. You and the test subjects are the real victims of the inability of the Ministry of Health, “Luger said.
