The traffic light in Corona remains red, but the trend in Austria is in the right direction. Still, there are troublesome children.

On Monday, Austria took the first steps to open it after the total closure. The reopening of shops, services and schools is allowed, but the go-ahead has not yet been given. Because although there is a downward trend in new infections, the numbers are still too high. “I go down too slow every day, but the trend is correct,” Health Minister Rudolf Anschober (Greens) said Wednesday. In 24 hours there were 3,969 new infections with the virus on Thursday, most of them in the capital Vienna and Upper Austria. More about this here.

And the commission of experts for the traffic light change has reassessed the risk of infection in each district based on the most recent data, and obtained the same sobering result as in recent weeks. All of Austria is still deep red. Media: In all districts of the country there is a “very high risk.” According to the latest forecast from experts, there should be a reduction to around 2,000 new infections per day by December 9.

The situation is serious here

In a current working document with the risk classification indicators of the expert commission, the “Today” is available, shows: Almost every district in Austria is on the right track, some even on a very good track. The city of Klagenfurt has 50 percent fewer new infections in the 14-day trend, Hollabrunn in Lower Austria may show a reduction of 44 percent. Vienna has improved by 28 percent.

But: two districts have deteriorated. In Mattersburg, Burgenland, there is a 14-day trend with an 11 percent increase in new infections (399.6 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in an average of 7 days, as of December 1) and in Murtal, Styria, the increase was 13 percent (518, 8 cases per 100,000 inhabitants on an average of 7 days, as of December 1).
