A large-scale search for a 16-year-old missing boy with seven fire departments and numerous search and rescue dogs was carried out on Thursday morning in Laakirchen (Gmunden district).
“We were alerted to a search for a person early this morning. It is a 16 year old boy who has been missing since 8:20 yesterday, lightly dressed. We also had snow during the night and of course everything is there for emergency services. It is possible, in action, about 250 emergency services now on site. We are doing everything possible to find the child in time. The search area itself extends to all of Laakirchen, with the focus now on the Laakirchen center, this is now being re-searched with drones, search dogs and a lot of “manpower”, describes Jürgen Sturm, chief of operations for the Laakirchen fire brigade.
In addition to the Red Cross search dogs, numerous rescue dogs from the Austrian Rescue Dog Brigade are also on duty.
The boy had been missing since Wednesday night after an argument. He could be found in good health with a supervisor in Leonding. Then the search was completed successfully.
