Starting next week, the “hard” blockage will ease again. Starting on December 7, the exit restrictions will only take effect between 8 pm and 6 am, contacts between two households are possible again. All measurements in detail.
The government presented this Wednesday the key points of the blockade, which has been deactivated but extended, and have not yet been decreed in detail by the Minister of Health, Rudolf Anschober (Greens). The following is an overview of the most important crown measurements that will apply as of December 7, 2020:
Departure restrictions between 8 pm and 6 am
Exit restrictions will be relaxed and will only apply at night from December 7. Between 8 p. M. And 6 a. M. You may only leave your own private living area for specific reasons or staying “out of your private living area” is only allowed for these reasons. It is allowed to drive to work, attend to the basic needs of daily life and use health services. It is also allowed to stay outdoors for “physical and psychological relaxation” during the night (for example, for walks or individual sports); caring for people in need of support is also included in the exceptions.
Contact regulation and vacation exceptions
During the day (from 6 am to 8 pm), two households can meet with several people each. Specifically, a maximum of six adults (plus six children) is allowed to meet. There are exceptions for holidays: on December 24, 25, 26 and 31, a total of ten people may meet, regardless of the number of households involved. This makes possible family celebrations in a somewhat larger circle (with ten people, however, children are already included). The night curfew does not apply in these cases either, so you can continue partying after 8 pm
Entry restrictions at Christmas
Shortly before Christmas there will be restrictions on re-entry into Austria. All countries with an incidence of 14 days greater than 100 are classified as risk areas. People entering from one of these areas must be quarantined for ten days. All neighboring countries are currently affected. A PCR test can be done after five days to end the quarantine as soon as a negative result is obtained. There will be exceptions for travelers, etc. The regulation will apply until January 10, the main objective here is the Orthodox Christmas festival on January 7.
Schools, kindergartens, universities
Compulsory schools and kindergartens come into operation regularly. Starting in fifth grade, a mask is required in class. Regular operations for high school graduates will also resume. All other high school students, as well as universities, continue to study distance education.
Mask requirement and distance ruler
The rule of the distance of one meter is still in force in public spaces. This safety distance must be respected for all people who do not live in their own home. When staying in closed public spaces, mouth and nose protection (MNS) should also be worn; children up to the age of six are, as before, exempt from this. Anyone who cannot wear a mask for medical reasons must carry a certificate with them and then wear a so-called face shield.
Openings in commerce and services
Trading crashes again. There is also a mask requirement here (for both clients and employees). There is an access restriction for customer areas: there must be at least ten square meters available per customer. In shopping centers, only stores are counted as space. All service providers, including “close to body” ones (like hairdressers), can unlock again. There is a ban on serving food or drinks to customers.
The gastronomy will reopen on January 7 at the earliest
All gastronomy remains closed to customers, at least until January 7. From there, depending on the infection, a restricted opening is promised. Pickup of food and beverages is still allowed between 6 am and 7 pm However, open alcoholic beverages cannot be sold. Delivery services continue to be allowed without a time limit. Pubs, bars and all nightclubs are also affected by the closure.
Corona measures in tourism
All hotels and accommodation establishments are closed for tourist reasons. There are exceptions for business trips that cannot be postponed. Here too, January 7 is the opening date, as long as the infection rate allows.
Regulations for events
The events are still almost completely banned for now. This includes cultural events, but also wedding, birthday and anniversary celebrations and occasional markets. The Christmas markets also remain closed. Cultural institutions and cinemas cannot open until at least January 7, depending on the infection rate.
Crown measures in sport from December 7
All contact sports (such as soccer) are prohibited. Indoor sports facilities are closed to amateur athletes. The outdoor sports facilities, meanwhile, can open from December 24. This also includes the ski areas. Cable cars, gondolas and other climbing aids cannot be used for recreational purposes until 23 December. In accordance with this, there is a 50 percent capacity restriction for enclosed areas, protective masks must also be worn in waiting and entrance areas. The professional sports area will continue to exist.
Recreational facilities
There is a slight relaxation of the leisure facilities. Museums and libraries can reopen. As in retail trade, there is an obligation to wear mouth and nose protection; The rule of ten square meters per visitor also applies here. The animal parks can reopen their doors from December 24 (only outdoors). Entering leisure facilities such as fitness studios or indoor swimming pools is prohibited.
Transport and cable cars
The well-known rules for public transport are maintained, as well as in metro stations, bus stops and airports. There you should wear protection for the mouth and nose. The one meter distance requirement also applies here. Shared and taxi rides are only allowed if there is a maximum of two people seated per row of seats (including handlebars). There are exceptions for the transport of kindergarten children or for the transport of people with disabilities. Cable cars, gondolas and ascent aids cannot be used for leisure purposes until December 23, they are reserved for professional athletes, for example.
Also, home office recommendation
The home office is still recommended whenever possible. The distance of one meter must also be respected in the workplace, as long as there are no other protective measures (Plexiglass walls, etc.). If both are not possible, it is mandatory to protect your mouth and nose.
Corona measures in hospitals and nursing homes
In nursing homes, nursing homes and homes for the disabled, only one visit per patient per week is possible. However, minor residents of homes for the disabled and residents in need of support can be visited by two people (for example, their parents). Palliative or palliative care accompaniment is excluded from the visit restriction. Employees must perform a weekly crown test; if no tests are available, an FFP2 mask should be used. Newly admitted residents must show a negative corona test, the same applies to visitors. The same rules apply in hospitals. There are exceptions to the visitation rules for accompaniment during pregnancy exams, during and after delivery, and for palliative or palliative care support.
Wedding, funeral, religion
Weddings at the registry office are only possible in exceptional cases. Wedding celebrations are prohibited. As before, a maximum of 50 people can attend funerals; Minimum distance rule and MNS obligation apply. In any case, mouth and nose protection should be used indoors in religious communities.
