The current crown numbers for Vorarlberg show Tuesday noon after a pleasant Monday, once again a significant increase in the number of people recovered compared to new infections.

In Vorarlberg, the number of new infections on Tuesday lunchtime, as on Monday, was clearly lower than that of recovered people. After 103 new infections throughout Monday, 51 new cases of Covid were recorded on Tuesday.

With 265 recoveries at the same time, the number of actively infected people dropped by 216 cases to 2,376 people. Two other people died from or with the coronavirus, bringing the death toll to 132.

The situation in the country’s hospitals remained stable. Of the 79 intensive care beds nationwide, 31, one fewer than the last, were occupied by corona patients. Currently, 32 intensive care beds were still available for all patient groups on Monday. A total of 154 patients with a crown were cared for in the hospitals.

At the moment, there has been no sustained recovery in the number of infected hospital employees. 91 (plus 18) were infected with the corona virus, 45 (plus seven) other employees were quarantined as contact persons.

District numbers

Of the Vorarlberg districts, Bregenz currently has the highest number of active positive cases (793). They are followed by Feldkirch (673), Dornbirn (480) and Bludenz (375).

Figures of the municipalities

As of Monday evening, there were thirteen municipalities in Vorarlberg with more than 50 actively infected. In five municipalities, the number of cases far exceeded 100, with the city of Dornbirn (241) ahead of Feldkirch (210) and Bregenz (208) and Lustenau (133) leading the way. Eleven of the 96 municipalities in Vorarlberg were free of the corona virus.

Vorarlberg is no longer a “hotspot”

According to the Corona panel of the Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES), Vorarlberg had a significantly better value on Monday for the incidence of seven days per 100,000 inhabitants than before and even fell well below the Austrian average. With 298 new infections per 100,000 residents in the past seven days, the state fared better than Salzburg, Carinthia, Upper Austria, Tyrol and Styria. Only Burgenland, Lower Austria and Vienna show better values than Vorarlberg.

Austria’s average on Monday was 348.

With an incidence of seven days between 230 and 350, the four districts of Vorarlberg are roughly in the lower middle range of the 94 Austrian districts. Especially noteworthy is Dornbirn, who a few weeks ago was still considered an Austrian “problem child”. The Dornbirn district now has clearly the lowest value of all the Vorarlberg districts.
