The Red Government program is an embarrassment to the Neos: can Comrade Christoph Wiederkehr continue to look in the mirror?
Vienna (OTS) – “The left coalition of the broken electoral promises does not have a grace period. The situation is too dire, the challenges are too great, and the program too bad. For a supposedly economically liberal party like Neos, this program is an incredible disgrace. The question arises whether Comrade Wiederkehr can even look at himself in the mirror, ”said club president Markus Wölbitsch during the municipal council constituent meeting, in which he presented a sticker asking Christoph Wiederkehr exactly this question on the town hall. After all, Christoph Wiederkehr did not even appear in a joint photo with members of the city government. A single photo reveals the SPÖ’s “mia-san-mia” rating. “Mr. Wiederkehr, I wish you all the best with this SPÖ. I advise you to always be on time for photo shoots, because they will not wait for you, ”said Wölbitsch.
But if he leans toward coalition negotiations, he can only end up a political dwarf, according to Wölbitsch. So it’s not surprising that it’s not a red and pink government program, but just a red one. Entire passages of the SPÖ electoral program were simply copied. “The Neos were scammed without a trace,” said Wölbitsch. This also makes it clear how NEOS will have to translate in the future: “NaEndlichOffenSozialdemokratisch”. “This coalition is the beginning of his self-abandonment. If that’s the model for the federal government, then good evening, dear Neos. It should be okay for me if Neos collapses, the only thing that bothers me is that the Viennese are tense about it, ”said the club president.
For example, the question arises of easing the burden on the economy as promised by the Neos. “We are in an unprecedented economic and health crisis. The federal government spends a lot of money to support businesses and secure jobs, ”said Wölbitsch. “But what are the Neos doing with government involvement in Vienna to help companies quickly and without bureaucracy? They are forming a working group with the SPÖ! “Said the club president. “But now is not the time for the working groups, but the time to relieve the people!” Where is the abolition of the valorization law promised by the Neos, where is the abolition of the subway tax, the creation of tourist areas or the urgent reform of pensions? So, put these Neos claims through a “reality check” in the context of various apps to find out what they’re still worth.
In view of this red government program and the continuing left-to-left welcoming culture, a decent center-right politics is needed in the city. “This decent center-right policy was clearly reinforced on October 11. We are a 20 percent party and we have tripled our seats. This is a new strength that we will use, ”said the club president. SPÖ and Neos do not have a grace period. “In the next five years, as the largest opposition party with a center-right policy, we will oppose him decently and offer an alternative to disappointed Neos voters.”
