In Vorarlberg, the downward trend in coronavirus infections continued on Wednesday (at 4pm).
From Tuesday at midnight to Wednesday afternoon, 175 new infections were registered, with 210 recoveries.
The number of actively positive Covid-19 infected people dropped from 4,001 to 3,964 cases. Two patients died Wednesday in connection with the corona virus, increasing the number of corona deaths to 78.
Districts
Most of the active corona cases are still in the Bregenz district (1348). They are followed by Feldkirch (1,066), Dornbirn (996) and Bludenz (519).
Communities
As of Wednesday afternoon, there were 17 municipalities in Vorarlberg with exactly or more than 50 actively infected. In eleven municipalities, the number of cases far exceeded 100, with the city of Dornbirn (481) ahead of Feldkirch (295), Bregenz (292) and Lustenau (282) leading the way. About 70 percent of all active coronavirus infections in Vorarlberg were distributed among these 17 communities. Only four of the 96 municipalities in Vorarlberg were free of the corona virus.
16 intensive care beds still available
The number of Covid-19 intensive care patients increased from two to 41 people. As the day before, 16 intensive care beds were still available for all patient groups.
In total, 200 crown patients were treated at the Vorarlberg hospitals. Of the 432 beds in the normal wards reserved for Covid-19 patients, 273 were still free.
240 hospital employees in quarantine
However, the number of hospital employees suffering from the coronavirus has continued to rise in Vorarlberg. According to information from the hospital’s operating company, 133 employees (plus 14) had a positive corona test on Wednesday, 107 (plus seven) other employees were in quarantine.
The seven-day incidence is falling
According to the crown board of the Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES), Vorarlberg no longer had the worst value of all Austrian federal states with the incidence of seven days per 100,000 inhabitants on Wednesday (as of 2 p.m). With 688 new infections per 100,000 residents in the past seven days, the state lagged behind Salzburg (778) and former “model Crown student” Carinthia (709).
Austria’s average on Wednesday was 525.
The four districts of Vorarlberg currently have an incidence of more than 580 days in 7 days. The Dornbirn district continues to be the worst hit in Vorarlberg.
