The Graz 99ers extended their lead in the ICE international ice hockey league on Friday with a 5: 4 (2: 2.1: 0.2: 2) home win against the capitals of Bratislava. After the success of the eighth round game, the Styrians are four points ahead of the capitals of Vienna, leaving the Viennese two games behind. For Graz it was the second win in the second game after a 15-day Corona break, before that there was a 4-2 home win against VSV.
Full success against Bratislava was difficult to achieve. The guests were up 2-0 after three minutes, but tied at seven minutes. A second before the second break, Parker Mackay made it 3-2 with the second two power play goals from the Graz team. After Bratislava’s draw at 3: 3 (43rd), Dominik Grafenthin (45th) and Mackay (54th ) scored decisively for the 99ers’ sixth en suite victory, the Slovakian goal came too late (59th).
