In Vorarlberg, the number of new corona infections on Tuesday was relatively low.

272 new infections were added in Vorarlberg in 24 hours. The day before there were 509 new infections.

There were actively positive Covid 19 cases in Vorarlberg on Tuesday 3,669. The 272 new infections were compared with 261 recoveries.

So far, 140,562 corona tests have been carried out in Vorarlberg. When asked by VOL.AT, the state said people currently tested have to wait about 43 hours for a result. The requirements in this regard are high, but the testing staff is not overloaded.

Two more deaths

The number of Covid-19 patients who died increased from two to 57 people. After 19 people died from coronavirus or coronavirus in Vorarlberg in early May, there have been 38 since early August.

The number of corona patients in Vorarlberg hospitals also increased to 177 (+6 compared to Monday). Of these, 30 (+1) were in the intensive care unit. 17 out of 30 intensive care patients require ventilation.

Figures of the municipalities

In ten municipalities in Vorarlberg: Dornbirn (503), Lustenau (340), Bregenz (268), Feldkirch (263) and Hard (164), Hohenems (155), Bludenz (136), Lauterach (120), Götzis (104) and Wolfurt (102): there were (quite a lot) more than 100 active cases each. The 80s mark was surpassed at Rankweil (97), Frastanz (84) and Höchst (83). Altach (67) and Nüziders (50) also reported more than 50 infected people or exactly 50. This means that 69.1 percent of all active coronavirus infections in Vorarlberg were distributed among these 15 municipalities. Only eight of the 96 municipalities in Vorarlberg were free of the corona virus.

Seven-day incidence decreased slightly

According to the crown board of the Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES), Vorarlberg continued to have the second worst value of all Austrian federal states for the incidence of seven days per 100,000 inhabitants, despite the trend to the low. With 697.5 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days, Vorarlberg was behind Upper Austria (702.3) and before Tyrol (602.5).

The Austrian average was 461.

The four districts of Vorarlberg show a seven-day incidence of more than 570 on Tuesday. Vorarlberg’s “hotspot” is still the Dornbirn district with an incidence of 858.
