The exit restrictions, which are enforced as stricter corona measures to combat the rampant COVID pandemic across Austria, should end on Thursday. But now they are extended until November 22.
AUSTRIA. The exit restrictions, which have been in force since November 3, stipulate that it is generally forbidden to leave your “own private area” between 8 pm and 6 am Now this measure is extended, for another 10 days, until the 22nd of November. The corresponding decision will be made in the evening in the main committee of the National Council.
Five exceptions
There are five exceptions to the exit restrictions:
- You are allowed to go out for professional purposes.
- You are also allowed to go out to meet the basic needs of daily life.
- Supervision and care of those in need is also allowed.
- The fourth exception concerns defense against dangers to life, limb, and property.
- The fifth exception is the purpose of “physical and psychological relaxation”, that is, staying outdoors.
Other more stringent measures are possible
It is unknown if there will be additional measures, such as closing a highly debated school. All that can be heard from the ministry is that an evaluation would take place “in the next few days.” Until then, we want to determine if the desired reduction in the number of infections has occurred or if it is possible that it is necessary to reinforce the measures.
