The Vienna Stock Exchange ended an extremely volatile trading session on Wednesday with a slight increase. In the middle of the week, investors are likely to have focused primarily on the uncertain outcome of the US presidential election.
The leading national ATX index rose 0.09 percent to 2,146.51 points. The ATX Prime gained 0.16 percent to 1,097.31 points.
Until recently, Democratic challenger Joe Biden’s signs of victory increased. He was able to register a very small majority in Michigan’s constituency not yet fully counted. And in Wisconsin he also led. However, depending on the market, the current President of the United States, Donald Trump, is not unlikely to turn against the Supreme Court.
On the corporate side, Lenzing and Addiko Bank brought number templates to the fore in this country. Shares of the Upper Austrian fiber maker lost 2.58 percent. The Group’s operating profit before depreciation and amortization (Ebitda) fell in the first three quarters of 2020 year-on-year from 267 to 140 million euros, and sales from 1.62 to 1.19 billion euros.
For Addiko Bank shares, however, it was up 8.70 percent. The bank posted a net loss of 6.4 million euros in the first nine months of 2020. Thanks to a profit in the third quarter of less than half that of the first half (loss of 12.2 million euros).
By contrast, the Erste Group’s heavily weighted banking stocks fell significantly by 3.35 percent. Raiffeisen lost 1.55 percent and BAWAG fell 1.71 percent since trading.
By contrast, aircraft supplier FACC’s shares posted the highest surcharges in the core market segment. They jumped 13.80 percent after gaining more than six percent the day before.
The voice of an analyst also came to the fore. Commerzbank analysts have raised the circuit board maker’s share price target from € 21.0 to € 23.0 following yesterday’s figures released by AT&S. In the study by expert Florian Treisch, the vote is still on “Buy”. AT&S went from trading 1.33 percent down to 17.76 euros.
