Vienna – The worsening crisis in the crown brings Austria a second blockade. The new measures should apply until the end of November. The exception to this is the departure restrictions between 8 pm and 6 am, which provisionally apply until November 12 inclusive.

The events will be prohibited from Tuesday with the exception of professional sports. Theaters, museums and leisure facilities like swimming pools or gyms will also need to close. The catering industry can only offer pick-up and drop-off services, hotels are prohibited from accepting tourists. However, the state covers 80 percent of sales losses compared to last November. 🕗 Exit restrictions

There are only five exceptions:

🌇 Public space

  • In public spaces, all people who do not live in their own home should keep one meter away. When in closed public spaces, keep a distance of one meter and wear mouth and nose protection (MNS). Children up to six years of age are exempt from the MNS obligation. If you cannot wear a mask for medical reasons, you must carry a certificate; then you can wear a face shield.
  • The minimum distance of one meter cannot be exceeded, provided that it involves groups of a maximum of six people from a maximum of two different households, plus a maximum of six minors.
  • Birthday parties and anniversary celebrations are prohibited in public spaces according to government documents.

🏡 Private space

  • There are no regulations for the immediate privacy area. The “parties” and any events are prohibited in garages, gardens or barns. The documents do not indicate the number of people for whom a gathering in these places is considered a party.

⚽ Sport

  • All contact sports (football, etc.) are prohibited, sports facilities are closed to amateur athletes, with the exception of outdoor sports facilities where there is no physical contact (eg golf, tennis, athletics ).

🏋️ Leisure companies

  • All leisure facilities such as fitness studios, indoor pools, museums, cinemas and zoos will be closed.

🏅 Top sport

  • Elite athletes and their coaches can enter sports facilities and practice their sport professionally or participate in international competitions.

🛍️ Commerce and Services

  • Customers and employees should wear mouth and nose protection and keep them at least one meter away. Each client must have 10 m² available. If the customer area is less than 10 m², it can only be entered individually.

🚗 carpooling and taxis; Cable cars

  • The formation of car pools and the use of taxis is only allowed if there are only two people seated per row of seats (including the handlebars). Mouth and nose protection should also be worn.
  • There are exceptions for the transport of kindergarten children or for the transport of people with disabilities, if necessary due to the number of passengers and when getting on and off.
  • Cable cars, gondolas and climbing aids cannot be used for leisure purposes.

🎒 kindergartens and schools

  • Kindergartens and lower grades remain open. The obligation to protect the mouth and nose is extended for students from 10 to 14 years old. The upper level is remotely operated.

😷 nursing homes and hospitals

  • Employees must be tested weekly.
  • Operators must also create a COVID-19 prevention concept to minimize the risk of infection.
  • Newly admitted residents must show a negative corona test result
  • For Seniors and Nursing Homes: All nursing home residents and nursing homes can receive one visitor every other day. In the period between November 3 and November 17, there can only be two different people. Visitors must show a negative corona test result. If this is not possible, a higher quality CPA or mask should be worn throughout the stay.

⛪ Events for the practice of religion

  • The practice of religion is allowed. Religious communities set their own rules to minimize the risk of infection, although MNS should be used indoors. Funerals can be held with a maximum of 50 people, with minimum distance and mouth and nose protection.
