“Significantly increasing trend among coronavirus patients”

Currently there is a clearly growing trend among patients with coronavirus who are treated in hospitals or who require intensive medical care not to push our health system to the limit of what is possible, ”Weiss explained. Both the doctor and Platter again appealed to the population to take responsibility.

In addition to the 152 beds currently occupied, 37 additional beds are explicitly reserved for Covid patients, the state said. If necessary, resources may be available in hospitals especially for corona patients. Around 200 intensive care beds were available in Tyrol, 118 of which were occupied, 18 with crown patients. Currently, normal operation in hospitals is still guaranteed and even if bed capacities for crown patients are expanded, corresponding hospital treatment options should still be available for other patients.

In the spring there were up to 218 corona patients hospitalized in Tyrol, up to 65 of them in intensive care units. “And even at this time, Tyrolean hospitals had not yet reached the overload limit,” the governor said. However, the situation is still being reassessed daily by working groups and is being followed with concern that there is currently a significantly increasing trend among coronavirus patients.
