Corona pandemic: traffic light now flashes orange in Ried district

[ad_1]

RIED DISTRICT. The traffic light in Corona has changed from yellow to orange in the Ried district, as in almost all districts of Upper Austria. Kirchdorf and Eferding are green, Braunau, Urfahr-Umgebung, Freistadt, Perg, and Steyr-Land are yellow, and Wels is even red.

What does that mean?

The orange color of the traffic light means “high risk”. “The risk of infection is now high in the Ried district. Orange means that everyone must be very careful not to get infected,” said Gerhard Obermair from the Ried district authority. However, it has not yet been determined what specific restrictions the color orange is associated with in the Ried district. “So far there have been no additional restrictions. However, the district administration or the state of Upper Austria can issue more stringent measures,” said Heidemarie Schachinger, from the Ried district administration. “Businesses and schools have to draw their own conclusions about how they can keep the risk of infection as low as possible,” adds Oberwagner. According to Obermair, the number of infections in the Ried district can be limited to four or five groups.

Schools remain yellow

“In coordination with health authorities, it was decided that the school traffic lights should remain yellow for the orange and red districts,” explains Lt. Governor Christine Haberlander. Postscript: “This decision is based on several factors. For one thing, schools are not currently the focus of infection in Upper Austria. On the other hand, we want to provide education to children and young people in school for as long as possible and relieve their parents. Schoolchildren should be able to go to school. “Currently there is no need for a change to distance education or shift work. From September 14, 2020, even with the school traffic light green, it is mandatory to wear mouth and nose protection outside of classrooms and the group rooms. As of Monday, October 19, 2020, the same hygiene and prevention measures will continue to be applied in all schools.
