Tennengau sports ban causes chaos

On Monday you can still kick, swim and smash. Because as of Tuesday soccer, swimming, as well as volleyball and soccer will be totally prohibited. Haslauer justifies the tightening, as already reported, as protective measures against further spread of the coronavirus.

ULSZ Rif wants to keep operations going

The University Sports Center (ULSZ) in Rif is a sports hotspot in Tennengau. During the closing of the crown, the sports facility, like many other facilities in the country, was closed for a month and a half. ULSZ Director Wolfgang Becker is not currently assuming a full shutdown. “The popular sport and the fields of the USI will be closed. Currently it is being discussed whether professional athletes can continue training,” explains Becker in an interview with SALZBURG24.

The following can be heard from the office of the Sports Councilor Stefan Schnöll (ÖVP): “The health authorities have to decide more details. A complete stoppage would be very tragic for the clubs and the athletes.”

ULSZ Director Wolfgang Becker (left) and Sports Councilor Stefan Schnöll (ÖVP) examine how operations in the Rif can be sustained.

In addition to the Austria Salzburg and Grödig regional soccer division, winter sports enthusiasts around Stefan Kraft, karateka such as Alisa Buchinger and army athletes, swimmers, track and field athletes, volleyball players, etc., train in Rif.

Chaos in popular sports is on the horizon

But not only the location of the Rif, but also in Tennengau’s eleven football clubs, including the youth business, mixed with a lot. Soccer club SV Kuchl, which is currently number one in the Salzburg regional league and aspires to be promoted to the supra-regional western league with Tirol and Vorarlberg, wants to await the final regulations and rules of the Salzburg Football Association (SFV ).

“We look forward to competing in the SAK 1914 at least tomorrow. Whether we can train at home, in a different Gau or possibly hold our duels in a neutral venue is in the stars,” President Sebastian Wimmer said at the request of S24.

The measurements are incomprehensible to Wimmer. The club’s coach speaks of a “questionable hardening”, because currently there are no known infections in sports and especially in football. “We definitely want to bring the championship to a regular finale, but if it continues like this, hopefully the season cannot be played,” Wimmer emphasized.

SFV is working on solutions for lower house football

Even at the SFV, the heads are currently smoking. The association is currently working on the rules for the game’s operations, but has not yet been able to provide insight on the S24 request. “We too are offended and are currently working on solutions,” the office said. Results are expected later in the day.
