Mask requirement for waiters, upper limits per table, and a registration requirement for guests – the crown crisis demands a lot from innkeepers. A clever native of Waldviertel would now like to offer you the specially created homepage www.cowirt.at under the arms.
Markus Tiefenbacher, 30, explains: “The homepage is a free, digital and secure guest registration system.”
And this is how it works: owners can register on the home page, print brochures with QR codes and the home page, and distribute the notes on the seats. Guests are then quickly and easily registered with their cell phones by entering their name, email address, and phone number on the platform. Optionally you can also write down the table number and the time of departure from the inn.
Help also for small hosts
The host stores the data for 28 days and then deletes it. In the case of a positive corona case at the restaurant, lists can be sent to authorities for contact tracing with just a few clicks of the mouse.
The idea for the homepage came to the native of Jaidhofer (Krems-Land district) in spring: “At that time there was already such a registration requirement in Germany. Then I looked to see what similar offers were available. ” In the process, Tiefenbacher found several websites that offer their services for a fee. “Not all smallholders can afford something like this, especially in the crown crisis,” the 30-year-old explains.
During development he benefited from his training: he graduated from the federal business school in Krems and then studied web design and development in Vienna. Since 2013 he works as a web developer for “Blue Tomato” in Graz.
The name and logo for “cowirt” come from a friend, Karin Weber, who was born in Waidhofen. She currently works as a graphic designer at the Ministry of Health and helped Tiefenbacher with the conception.
1,500 guests already registered
The home page has been online for just over a week. “Smaller functions are always added,” says Tiefenbacher. For example, recently an ad showing how the offer is being used: Before the editorial deadline, nearly 1,500 guests signed up with “cowirt” when visiting a restaurant.
Tiefenbacher still visits his homeland regularly. “I plan to return when my daughter is a little older.”
