Seven members of the Camerata Salzburg chamber orchestra tested positive for the corona virus. The city of Salzburg announced this on Tuesday evening. Contact tracing is in full swing, concerts must be canceled.
Michael Haybäck from the municipal health authority: “Many contact persons are already segregated. Fortunately, the health authority has received reinforcements from all city administration departments. That also helps us enormously to meet this challenge. “
Camerata postpones concerts at the beginning of October
In principle, the Camerata Salzburg implements a strict COVID prevention concept. In the course of this, all the musicians and the organizing team will be heard before the start of each project, and therefore also before the rehearsals for the seasonal Salzburg concerts on the weekend of the 2nd and 4th October 2020 : subjected to a corona test. Some of the musicians have now submitted a positive PCR test for SARS-CoV-2. They and their family members were immediately quarantined. Rehearsals for the next concerts would have started on September 29, 2020 and are no longer possible.
Alternative dates are being sought and, according to Camerata, the cards are still valid.
