On Friday night, Kristina Inhof and Klaus Eberhartinger welcome the 13th round of the hit show Dancing Stars live on ORF 1 at 8.15pm. But much is different this time with the new season of Dancing Stars.
AUSTRIA. Strict security precautions, barely public in the ballroom, the jury without the Swiss Nicole Hansen and a new presenter: the corona pandemic is seriously affecting the popular autumn show of the ORF.
Behind the scenes of “Dancing Stars” there is a lot of noise. According to Kurier, the show’s employees were informed a day before the start of the new season that the show’s longtime manager, Andrea Heinrich, has thrown in the towel and resigned from her position. Reason alleged: the strict but necessary sanitary requirements against the spread of Corona.
Prohibition of public transport for dancers, distance, no audience
Dancers should always be under supervision and individually housed in windowless containers. The caretakers, like Haftelmacher, made sure there were no arguments. Safety precautions as part of Corona’s measures also include waiving a hearing and banning public transportation for celebrities and professionals. The dance couples will not have any contact with each other, a distance of two meters is always maintained, otherwise protective masks are used.
Sports and opera host Kristina Inhof replaces Mirjam Weichselbraun, who this year cannot travel between her London home and Vienna. No one has to leave the “Dancing Stars” on the first show, but the jury’s evaluation and audience vote will be taken on the second edition on October 2 and will be used to decide who should leave the show first.

This is what the candidates say
Marcos Nader dances with Alexandra Scheriau: “Of course there is a certain tension in me, which I also have before my competitions. Of course you want to deliver and cut a good figure. But the tension is a good thing, because then I can be sure that I will go into the ring, or in this case on the ground, fully concentrated. But the anticipation is really huge, because while I had never expected something like what it was now with these two attempts at ‘Dancing Stars.
Edita Malovčić dances with Florian Vana: “Now the air date of the first show is within reach and of course I feel a mixture of stage fright and anticipation. I’m excited to see if Florian and I will achieve what we set out to do on the dance floor. “
Norbert Oberhauser dances with Catharina Malek: “I have less stage fright, I am more excited about the show. After the long break and the many hours of training, I am happy to finally be able to show our tango. It has to come out now, otherwise it will destroy me. “
Michi Kirchgasser dances with Vadim Garbuzov: “Of course there is stage fright, but I’m happier that it’s starting and I don’t want to think too much about what might happen!”
Cesár Sampson dances with Conny Kreuter: “I don’t even know how to describe this feeling, I’ve been in the 3-point starting position for months, after so much waiting for stage fright ‘mutates’ into something completely new, I call it” please-finally- ” something-fever “. Anyway, he never gets the feeling that he’s finished preparing, so he finally wants to bring something to the floor and look almost hopefully at Dirk Heidemann’s crushing verdict and Karina Sarkissova’s severe reprimand. Absurd but true! “
Tamara Mascara dances with Dimitar Stefanin: “Performing the second, first time in the great ballroom is magical. We’ve all been in this frustrating lockdown break for so long, it’s time to rock your hips! Dimitar and I are more than ready! “
Andi Ogris dances with Vesela Dimova: “I don’t have stage fright, but there is a certain tingling sensation. The anticipation for the ballroom, the orchestra and that it will finally begin is enormous. “
Silvia Schneider dances with Danilo Campisi: “I have a lot of stage fright and at the same time I look forward to the beginning as a little girl. It will be a roller coaster of emotions. I hope the audience is happy to be there. “
Christian Dolezal dances with Roswitha Wieland: “I am delighted that beautiful things can happen again. Stage fright is there, but not excessive, because nothing will go wrong. “
Natalia Ushakova dances with Stefan Herzog: “I’m already up to 200 percent, 100 percent stage fright and 100 percent anticipation! This is why I always tell myself: ‘Keep calm and Hakuna Matata!’ Everything is fine!”
