Additional measures in Lower Austria
In view of the increase in coronavirus infections in Lower Austria, Mikl-Leitner (ÖVP) on Friday presented new comprehensive measures for the state, which should take effect in individual districts as soon as the corona traffic light turns orange or red there. This is reevaluated every week. Mikl-Leitner also announced “strict controls”.
“The legal basis has now been created with the Covid Law, which comes into force on October 1,” the governor explained at a press conference. Sporting events have a special risk of infection. In districts with the orange traffic light, these should only take place without an audience, Mikl-Leitner announced. The only exceptions are outdoor Bundesliga events, where federal regulations continue to apply.
