Vienna – The new Crown laws were approved by the National Council on Wednesday afternoon with the votes of the coalition and SPÖ. The new set of rules makes it clear, for example, when a lockdown is possible, what types of exit restrictions are feasible, and how the crown semaphore works. It was also decided that doctors in private practice will also be able to perform PCR tests in the future. Health insurance companies bear the costs.

🚥 Corona-Ampel:
The National Council has decided how the Corona traffic light works: The criteria for assessing the epidemiological situation are emerging cases, cluster analysis (i.e. the question of how many cases the source of infection has been clarified), occupancy rate of hospitals, the proportion of positive in all tests, as well as regional characteristics such as tourism and commuter flows.
🚫 Closure and curfews:
As for a possible closure, it would need the approval of the main committee of the National Council. The duration can initially be a maximum of ten days, an extension is possible.
It also regulates what curfews are possible. In coordination with the main committee of the National Council, the Minister of Health could order “that the exit from private housing be allowed only for certain purposes.” The exceptions are listed: avoiding immediate danger, caring for people in need of support, meeting the basic necessities necessary for daily living, professional purposes, and staying outdoors for “physical and mental relaxation.” Meetings with siblings or best friends who no longer live in the same household should also be possible.
⛔️ Entry bans and penalties:
Entry bans are defined that can be de facto imposed anywhere except in private living spaces. However, restrictions should be possible in private rooms that were not rented for residential purposes.
Illegal entry to commercial premises, workplaces, means of transport or any other place can be sanctioned with up to 1,450 euros. The owners of business premises and workplaces, as well as operators of means of transport, face fines of up to 30,000 euros.
More power is given to state authorities. It is now also stipulated by law that they can introduce stricter regulations than those provided by the federal government.
🩺 Corona tests at the GP
It is also planned that practical doctors and specialists may also perform corona tests in the future. This is intended to alleviate the 1450 Health Hotline in particular. This is paid by the coffers, which in turn receive money from the federal government from the crisis management fund.
The FPÖ’s motion of no confidence against the entire government was rejected by all other parliamentary groups. Even the liberal desire to hold a referendum on the law did not find a majority. (WHAT, TT.com)
