Salzburg justifies the low number of crown tests

For example, last Saturday, which essentially represents Friday’s tests, 6,803 tests were reported in Vienna, only 208 from Carinthia and 294 from Salzburg.

Unrecorded private crown tests

Stöckl justified the big difference in the fact that no private tests with negative results were reported from Salzburg. “At the moment there are also no technical interfaces between the private laboratories in Salzburg and the EMS system,” said a Stöckl spokesman for the APA. Salzburg conducted up to 20,000 tests a month in the summer because there were ongoing tests in tourism. However, only those officially ordered were reported.

Stöckl called for uniform regulation across Austria so that individual regions can be compared.

Vienna Contradiction

Vienna’s Health Councilor Peter Hacker’s (SPÖ) office told the APA that only officially ordered tests would also be included in the federal capital’s statistics.

These are all official tests that give positive or negative results, as well as all private tests with positive results. With the latter, there is a legal obligation under the Epidemic Law to report them. However, negative results from private tests are not reported. “All the test results that Vienna reports on a daily basis are tests ordered by the authorities,” explained the hacker’s office.
