The strict measures of the crown are causing a headache for many Bundesliga clubs.
For example, the two Viennese clubs, who are very angry about the new limit of 3000 spectators at home games.
“Of course a disappointment is palpable. Just as we had waited and hoped for months. And now this lack of prospects,” explains Rapid CEO Christoph Peschek in the “Krone” regarding the fans.
10,000 supporters were invited in Hütteldorf against Admira, and the same number of subscriptions had been sold. The emergency plan called for 5,000 spectators, now another 2,000 fans have to be disappointed.

The concept developed against Admira for 10,000 spectators worked well, as Vienna Councilor for Health and Sport Peter Hacker emphasized in the “Kurier”:
“I admit, I was curious to see how this concept worked. And I’m excited about how well it worked. What impresses me the most is the discipline of the fans in the stadium.”
Kraetschmer: “Additional financial damage”
Local rivals Austria Wien are also concerned about the current development.
“It will cause additional financial damage to the clubs,” says Markus Kraetschmer, a member of the AG’s board of directors, who thinks the government’s decision has undermined traffic light regulation.
Kraetschmer’s thanks goes to the loyal subscribers, who are an important pillar: “But there is also a feeling of uncertainty among the fans. If the situation lasts longer, the bond with the fans may be lost.”
Exchange between Rapid, Austria, FAC and Capitals
In dealing with the current situation, there is a lively exchange between the Viennese clubs, and it is not just limited to Rapid and Austria, as Peschek makes clear:
“We coordinate, the FAC and the capitals of Vienna are also there.”
