On Saturday 444 new infections were reported in Vienna alone. Crown numbers have risen dramatically in Austria in recent days. The measures will tighten across Austria on Monday.
According to media reports, after Switzerland, Germany is now also considering whether to include the Austrian capital in the list of corona risk areas. Starting Monday, everyone who stayed in Vienna for two weeks before entering Switzerland will have to be quarantined for ten days, even if they have a negative Covid-19 test.

Germany should now consider similar steps. It will be checked whether a travel warning should be issued for Vienna only or possibly for all of Austria. A decision must be made early next week.
