Why does the public in Vienna find out so much less about Corona clusters than in the other federal states?
A football club in Tiroler Unterland, a free church in Linz, a youth group camp in Grossarl, a choir in Perg, bars in Klagenfurt, just for example: you can regularly find out in all federal states where and in which institutions they have been produced the corona clusters. Just not from Vienna. Officially, only “intrafamilial infections” are often spoken of.
Do you really no longer know in the office of the Department of Health? That would be an accusation, even more: fatal. You don’t want to believe it either. Because even many Viennese who are not professionally involved with Covid-19 know at least from hearsay, from acquaintances of acquaintances (such as in a big city), about one or another group, for example, about specific trendy restaurants.
Or should the public not be deliberately informed? Do you want to keep your knowledge about clusters as secret as possible? In the first place, it would be stupid and arrogant to think of authority, under the motto: What do you care? Second, it is detrimental to disease control. Because it is very interesting for all citizens where and how many people in particular are infected. Of course, that knowledge can also harm the institutions involved: if, for example, there are frequent infections in crowded bars and these are known, then the bars will tend to suffer a decrease in visitors. Which may be bad for your operators, but it would be useful for the general public. Especially in the crown situation as it currently prevails in Vienna. Which is so threatening that the majestic secret is not really appropriate.
