From now on there is an absolute ban on smoking at the Red Bull Arena in Salzburg. That’s Red Bull Salzburg announced Wednesday on a broadcast. “The club, which introduced the ban on pipes and cigars a long time ago, is constantly continuing on its path and is following a number of examples nationally and internationally,” said the Austrian series champion.
In the poll, stadium visitors and season ticket holders spoke out clearly in favor of a smoking ban.
“The Red Bull Arena is a family stadium, it has a great area for children and young people and as a sports facility it should be a general example of increased health and environmental awareness. They have clearly spoken in favor of the ban smoking ”, the club explains the decision.
Stephan Reiter, Commercial Director of FC Red Bull Salzburg, says: “The Red Bull Arena is a family stadium, it has a large area for children and young people and as a sports facility it should be a general example of increased environmental and health awareness. Furthermore, the data from a survey of our stadium subscribers and spectators gave us a very clear picture that we will now implement consistently. “
Corona regulation in the stadium
Additionally, new regulations apply to visits to the Red Bull Arena in relation to the Bundesliga’s COVID-19 prevention concept. These are the most important aspects:
- In the current state, 10,000 visitors can attend all FC Red Bull Salzburg home games (subject to possible restrictions in relation to the new four-stage “Corona traffic light”). Specifically, this means that due to the large number of season tickets sold, there will be no free sale – Red Bull Arena is sold out with subscribers.
- The following solutions are planned in relation to the Corona traffic light:
- Green: 10,000 visitors in a checkerboard pattern.
- Yellow: Stadium visitors are divided into two different groups, each of which has alternate access to the games. The maximum number is 5,000 people.
- Orange: In principle, the games take place without spectators (max. 250 people invited).
- Red: As it is, games are not possible.
- To implement the Bundesliga prevention concept in games in the best possible way, the active cooperation of all stadium visitors is necessary. Mouth and Nasal Protection (MNS) must be worn when entering the stadium area. This is mandatory no later than when entering the Red Bull Arena. The MNS can only be removed from the assigned seat.
- An exception applies to the north curve. In coordination with the authorities, fan activities can take place here, but in addition to compliance with the distance regulation, the duty of MNS applies throughout the game.
- Seats are assigned in a checkerboard pattern, which means that a seat next to, behind, and in front of an occupied seat remains free.
- When it came to assigning seats, the Red Bull Arena was divided into eight zones. Each of these zones is independently organized and cannot be changed. Sufficient entrances and exits, toilets and catering stands are available for all these areas.
- In those areas where queues are unavoidable, distance marks are placed on the floor. The number of employees involved in the game also increases accordingly.
- There are also sanitizer dispensers everywhere in the Red Bull Arena, and information boards and advertisements are used to continually indicate necessary hygiene measures.
- The club knows the details of all visitors to the stadium, as season ticket holders, in principle. If a subscriber wants to give his ticket to a third party, he is obliged to report his data to the club for registration.
- For all interior spaces (e.g. lifts, VIP areas and boxes) there are additional specifications, such as the maximum number of people advertised or a special concept of gastronomic safety (limited number of people, Plexiglas, emission by staff, etc. ).
Stephan Reiter, Commercial Director of FC Red Bull Salzburg, explains: “We are delighted that things are starting again and that the spectators can finally be there again at Red Bull Arena. The specifications of these games are quite demanding and we have invested a lot of time and effort in the best possible implementation, as we want to offer our guests the highest possible security. For us, this is a step in the right direction, but it should not be the end of the road. Together with the other Bundesliga and Bundesliga clubs, we will do our best to be able to return to normal game operations with a full stadium. “
