From Sunday to Monday there are 290 new positive PCR tests in Austria. This means that there are currently 3,515 infected people.
There are also 257 new convalescents. So far a total of 1,266,223 tests have been performed. That’s an increase of 10,398 tests from Sunday.
The deaths were corrected
The number of deaths associated with the virus in Vienna is now 222. The ten additional deaths recorded are a data cleansing that dates back to a recommendation from the Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES).
This stipulates that Covid-19 statistics must also include those deaths that tested positive for a SARS-CoV-2 infection within a certain period before the time of death. SARS-CoV-2 infection does not necessarily have to be the cause of death. This historical adjustment affects a period beginning in late March through early September.
75 new infections in Vienna
The leader among new infections is Vienna with 75. It is followed by Lower Austria (56), Upper Austria (33), Styria (32), Tirol (31), Salzburg (25), Vorarlberg (23), Burgenland (11), Carinthia (4).
