The only news among them was that private events should take place with a maximum of 25 people in the future, with Kurz and Anschober sticking to the call for common sense, “because restrictions on the private sphere are not constitutionally possible,” Kurz said. . Kurz emphasized that the recommendation should also be considered with regard to the Christmas holidays. Vice Chancellor Werner Kogler (Green), who returned after a long absence, made striking comparisons: “If we snuggle deeper in the fall, the virus will be with us.” That’s why not only distance and hygiene, but also greater use of the mask are among the recommendations, says Anschober.
The mask requirement of course could become a problem again tomorrow: with the Corona traffic light, specific measures for individual traffic light colors must also be communicated on Friday, and this will also lead to legal requirements in the fall and winter .
“We will see even stronger legally binding measures in the regions, I can guarantee that,” Kurz said. He described a group size restriction for local visits with increasing numbers of infections as “very, very realistic.” And he warned that “there could be massive restrictions as we have known them since spring.”
However, for the time being, the measures applicable to individual traffic light colors will also have the character of recommendations. The legal basis for the tightening will be created with the Covid Action Act, which will only be approved in parliament in just under three weeks. And even then “yellow” doesn’t mean “yellow” everywhere (see details below).
Kogler and Anschober justified the fact that large events of up to 5000 people would still be allowed with “preventive and safety concepts” that the organizers would have to present as opposed to private parties.
Interior Minister Karl Nehammer (VP) announced stricter quarantine controls. So far 343 quarantine violations have been sanctioned, “it should be clear to everyone that this has consequences.” Tomorrow it will show how clear the traffic light will bring.

The Corona Commission gives its evaluation weekly, as well as recommendations for measures for the traffic light colors in green, yellow, orange and red. However, the actions taken remain a political decision of the federal and state governments.
