Kristina Inhof is no stranger to ORF. She has been a sports presenter since 2016 and has already gained experience in entertainment with the program “Die Große Chance der Chöre”. After Mirjam Weichselbraun decided not to present “Dancing Stars” for the current season, Inhof now takes on this task. On “Lower Austria Today” she spoke at length with Robert Friess about her new role as moderator and “Dancing Stars”.
noe.ORF.at: It has been known since yesterday morning that you are the hosts of “Dancing Stars”. What has happened since then?
Kristina Inhof: A lot. My day has never been so full. To be honest it was overwhelming, I had never seen him like this before, so much attention to me. I still have my life, which I had before, so to speak, before it was made public. I also have my soccer programs that I want to do properly and properly. Yesterday there were many requests for interviews and congratulations, friends called. It was exciting but beautiful.
noe.ORF.at: Your moderation partner Klaus Eberhartinger is very important. Have you already had contact with him?
Inhof: Not yet. I am very excited. I only really know him from TV, because he looks super fun, super cool and I’m looking forward to working with him.
“Very personal”: Kristina Inhof
Starting in September, Kristina Inhof will host the ORF program “Dancing Stars” in place of Miriam Weichselbraun. Robert Friess met up with the enthusiastic Lower Austrian sports host for a very personal interview at the ORF center.
noe.ORF.at: You already have experience in shows. Together with Andi Knoll you moderated “The great opportunity for choirs”. Was it an important experience for you?
Inhof: That was amazing. That was even my first engagement with ORF. In 2015, even before I got into sports, I moderated “The Great Chance of Choirs”. Before the first broadcast in rehearsals, I had tears in my eyes because at that moment I realized what was happening, that dream of me as an 18, 19 year old girl, when I started my journey after school. to go – simply becoming a reality. That was a unique moment for me back then.
noe.ORF.at: You also danced with Andi Knoll on this show. A little hint of fate that it might one day be “Dancing Stars”?
Inhof: That was really exciting. We were allowed to do a little dance choreography for an opening on the “Time of my Life” show. That was really nice and a lot of fun.
noe.ORF.at: Initially he was a sports presenter for private channels, and since 2016 he has been with ORF-Sport. Where does this love for sports come from?
Inhof: I was born with that. We have always been a sports family, my father was a physical education teacher. I played handball at Hypo Niederösterreich in my childhood and youth. I never had football experience, no one in our family has been a professional, but it happened because football is the sport in Austria. It is associated with a lot of emotion and, of course, football was always in the living room at home. As a child and as a teenager I watched a lot of soccer games and that’s how it happened.
noe.ORF.at: There are also hops, like this famous beer shower.
Inhof: It was great, very surprising, but also a bit funny in the situation. It was a celebratory atmosphere and I’m up for fun anyway, so I wasn’t mad at anyone, but I actually laughed at the situation.
noe.ORF.at: You grew up in Lower Austria and you live in the Mödling district. How important is family to you, how important is home to you?
Inhof: My family is everything to me. She is my haven of peace. I am a family person. I need this to go back down. Words are missing a bit right now because I’m trying to correct it, because it means a lot to me. My home district is also very important to me. I feel at home in Mödling and I never intended to move to Vienna, although I studied in Vienna and now work there. The big city was never an option for me, I just like this area of Mödlinger with nature. You can go to the mountains, you can hike through the vineyards. That gives me the peace and quiet I need in addition to the exciting job.
