According to the Constitution of the United States, you cannot become president because you were not born in the United States, but what would be the first change that you would like to change as the head of state of the United States?
That is, of course, a hypothetical question, but my priority would be equality, and that has always been my theme since I emigrated here. I want a black kid in Philadelphia or Baltimore to have the same opportunities that I did when I came here as a foreigner. I had access to training, I was able to get a loan and go into the real estate business. None of this is equally possible for minorities, and especially for blacks.
I sat at the table with Democrats and Republicans and worked on fair housing, the legal system, and election. And make sure that polling stations in areas with a high minority rate are not closed to prevent people from voting. In the southern states, 1,200 polling stations closed. It’s not fair. I have to get a new civil rights law here, I mean, America doesn’t even have an anti-lynching law! Our politicians are lazy, 95 percent are re-elected because district boundaries are arbitrarily drawn.
The system is corrupt. We have to build a new infrastructure, immigration reform, health reform and and and. We finally have to work together, not against each other. I ask both parties. Politics is a complex matter and anyone who just wants to win a popularity contest will get nothing else.
You must also be able to make yourself unpopular to implement changes. In California we are not only fighting the virus, but also the fires, the homeless problem, and I don’t think we are prepared enough for an earthquake.
