A stranger coughed and spat at the woman and a colleague.
London – In the United Kingdom, a train station employee died of Covid-19 lung disease, which was spit out and coughed up by a man suspected of being infected with the coronavirus. Belly Mujinga, 47, became ill a few days after the attack on March 22 at London’s Victoria train station and died in hospital in early April, the TSSA transport union said on Tuesday.
The new type of corona corona is transmitted through saliva, among other things. A colleague Mujingas, who was involved in the incident, was also infected with the virus. According to TSSA, the two were in the station lobby in front of the ticket office when the man spat on them. “The man coughed and told them he had the virus,” the union statement said.
A few days later, according to TSSA, Mujinga was on sick leave from his doctor. Her condition worsened, and she was taken to the hospital on April 2 and connected to a ventilator. The mother of an eleven-year-old daughter died three days later.
British traffic police BTP opened an investigation, according to TSSA. TSSA Secretary General Manuel Cortés said Mujinga was “one of too many employees who lost their lives due to the corona virus.” It demanded that the families of the deceased receive state compensation that was previously only promised to those affected in the health care system.
