Deputy Foreign Minister and Sports Minister Werner Kogler and his colleague from the Ecological Party and Health Minister Rudolf Anschober announced Tuesday the corresponding ordinance on Wednesday to resume training of the team in the outdoor area. According to Anschober, the opening of training places is the next measure of “safe and gradual opening to everyday life”.
The resumption of the game in the Bundesliga is scheduled for early June. The remaining ten rounds plus the three Europa League games will be completed in late July, practically exclusively in English weeks.
Unarmed quarantine rules
The crux of the matter was the question of what happens in the case of a positive coronavirus test. Here the Ministry of Health met with the league: only the person in question should be quarantined. According to Bundesliga manager Christian Ebenbauer, everyone else in the respective club is “encouraged to stay home.” You can, you can, and you should go to training sessions and games. “
“Updating” the team doctor
Close-knit tests aim to rule out additional infections or at least contain them to the point that the game can continue. Before the first team training, all players, i.e. players and coaches, must undergo PCR testing. “They can then move, train and play freely in their environment, but they are encouraged to minimize their social contacts,” said Ebenbauer.
A “health journal” is also planned. This includes, among other things, the daily measurement of fever. “We have created the framework to challenge the virus,” said Ebenbauer. The league board emphasized that the restart of the championship will be accompanied by a scientific study. “This provides you with data that can help the general public.” Upper house associations will discuss the additional procedure and exact schedule at a club conference on Wednesday.
The ÖFB team on standby
According to Windtner, around 2,200 clubs and 300,000 players have registered with ÖFB as the largest sports association in the country; all of them can expect a return soon. A few weeks ago, all leagues in the top two divisions had been canceled. “We will do everything possible so that the championships can start again in the fall. Because if there is an even bigger hole between games, then we would have to talk about a true “crown hole,” Windtner emphasized.
According to the head of the association, it cannot be estimated how long the ÖFB national team remains in the waiting position. UEFA has currently confirmed “a triple header in September”, “but there is no presumptive timetable for the fall.” More information is expected in June. The last international match so far ended on November 19 last year in the European Championship standings with a 0: 1 in Riga against Latvia.
