The situation in Upper Austria has been further alleviated

From Friday to Monday, there were no more deaths from 58 to 58, and the number of people currently ill fell from 50 to 43. In four of the 15 districts, no more sick people were reported at noon.

Around 1,000 Covid tests are currently carried out in Upper Austria, slightly less on weekends. In late March, the federal government announced 15,000 crown tests per day in Austria, which would have meant 2,400 tests for Upper Austria. However, this number was never reached. It would have been necessary to have the resources available for this. The highest was 1,600 controls in one day, according to the APA request from the country’s crisis team.

After the health and social affairs agency (AGES) announced from the federal side that it wanted to test nursing homes, the state registered the homes and began the controls themselves. More than 4,400 of the 13,100 employees have already been analyzed, and AGES has not yet taken samples in Upper Austria. On Monday, Covid-19 affected a total of 13 residents and eleven employees in 30 nursing homes in Upper Austria.

Furthermore, people with corresponding symptoms, such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, and difficulty breathing, would be assessed as before. With such signs, the number 1450 should continue to dial. The test is carried out using a nose or throat swab.

According to the Ministry of Health, the antibody tests “would not be used for regulatory application”, but would be offered by private providers and resident doctors.
