161 people can play ghost games
Ebenbauer assumes that Monday’s ordinance will allow Bundesliga teams to return to team training next Tuesday. The following applies to possible ghost games: a maximum of 161 people will be in the stadium per game. The league, that is, the clubs, must bear the costs of the tests themselves. Ebenbauer: “We have to check if there can be financing. Either from partners or from UEFA.” Ebenbauer expects a seven-digit euro amount to be used for testing. What is not yet clear is what happens when a player tests positive: “We have to talk to the Ministry of Health about what quarantine measures would be necessary. Now we have to deal intensively with this.”
Ried can keep waiting
There is also a possible continuation of the season in the second highest division. Contrary to expectations, today’s club conference did not end prematurely.
The SV Guntamatic Ried leader can continue to wait for the return to the Bundesliga. If the season ended, the leader of the second division would also have legally bad cards to fight for a place in the Bundesliga, because: “If you can not play until the end, the FB decision applies that there are no promoters or relegations”, Ebenbauer says. There can be no relegations from the second league this season if you can play all 30 rounds, because: There are no promoters from the regional leagues. So it’s settled: Those clubs, like the Fourteenth Horn, the penultimate GAK, and the Kapfenberg taillight, have already been saved.
