Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen spoke of a “careful first phase” of opening: in a first step, nurseries, kindergartens and schools for children up to fifth grade will reopen starting on Wednesday. With this, the Danish government wants to relieve parents who previously had to care for their youngest children in addition to work.

Frederiksen has extended all other measures in the same breath for four weeks: the Danish borders, including those of Germany, remain narrow until May 10. The same applies, according to Frederiksen, at least until the next opening phase, for restaurants, cafes, pubs, theaters and other leisure facilities. Meetings with more than ten people are still prohibited, important events are prohibited until the end of August.

The first stores in the Czech Republic were allowed to reopen from Thursday. There was an immediate rush of customers for hobbies and hardware stores, because many wanted to fix their garden or house at the time of exit restrictions. In the days after Easter, the government plans to come up with a plan to further relax the crown measures. “The bans are not lifted violently, but in a controlled manner,” Prime Minister Andrej Babis said in a television address. School operations are slated to resume in late May at the earliest.

The government has promised more exceptions to the current entry and exit ban, but it is not currently about opening borders to travel: “I think this will certainly not be a matter of the next few weeks, maybe not even that next month.” , Health Minister Adam Vojtech said on public television.

Hope is also growing in the EU country, Lithuania. Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis had repeatedly emphasized that the behavior of the population during the holidays was crucial to the possible relaxation of the current strict crown measures. The Easter weekend could be a “tipping point” after which a stable situation could lead to a gradual return to normality, he said on Good Friday. The government plans to present a four-phase plan on Wednesday. A preliminary schedule will also be presented.

First, however, the nearly three million inhabitants of the Eastern Catholic Baltic state had to give up regular family visits. The Norwegians partly follow their Scandinavian friends from Denmark when they leave the state of Corona, and venture a little further: nurseries only open on April 20 and schools for first-fourth grade students on April 27, such as La Prime Minister Erna Solberg announced before Easter. But the Oslo plan goes a little further: On the one hand, Norwegians can stay in their beloved cabins again from April 20, on the other hand, hairdressers, physical therapists and psychologists can resume work in April. The country’s borders remain closed. Norwegians returning to their home country must be quarantined for 14 days.

Hundreds of thousands of Spaniards were allowed to go to work for the first time in two weeks on Monday. The so-called hibernation, with which the government had intensified the fight against the pandemic, came to an end in those regions where Easter Monday is not a holiday, for example in Madrid. The controversial toughening of the curfew especially affected construction and industry.

However, Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez warned on Sunday that there was still no real weakening of the curfew. “The first easing will be in at least two weeks. And it will be gradual and careful,” he said. Therefore, the 47 million citizens cannot walk or play sports outdoors.

In the country severely affected by the pandemic, the alarm condition and the curfew had recently been extended until midnight on April 25. The positive trend in the fight against the virus continued during Easter. On Monday, authorities reported about 3,500 new infections, the lowest number since March 20.

The Italians are talking about a “phase 2”, but initially the strict exit restrictions for the 60 million inhabitants have been extended until May 3. They have been in force in the country affected by the pandemic since March 10. Production, which is not essential to life, has stopped. Many shops and all restaurants and bars are closed, while supermarkets, pharmacies, service stations and others have always been open across the country. Immediately after Easter, some stores, such as bookstores and stationeries, will open additionally. Lombardy, which has been particularly affected, does not want to open these stores as quickly; Other regions are also issuing special regulations.

Furthermore, the government has announced that a panel of experts should plan to gradually return to normal. Businesses are slated to start before the measures relax for people. Schools may remain closed until after summer break, that is, until September.

China seems to have the worst behind it, but there is no return to normal. Schools are still closed, but are expected to open in late April. Fever is also measured across the country. All Chinese are said to wear face masks.

At the origin of the pandemic in Wuhan, central China, the movement restriction for the eleven million residents was lifted after two and a half months of closure, provided they can code green on their mobile phone in an app Corona health. President Hassan Ruhani wants to relax crown regulations “under particularly stringent hygienic conditions” in three phases. In the first phase, work started in the provinces last Saturday in low risk areas. In the second phase, this should also happen a week later (April 18) in the capital Tehran. The flexibility applies in particular to production facilities and companies in the service sector.

Almost twelve branches are still excluded, where the risk of infection is particularly high, including department stores and shopping malls, restaurants and cafes, cinemas and theaters, all sports facilities, as well as hairdressers and beauty salons. There are also schools, universities and kindergartens, as well as religious sites such as mausoleums and mosques. Friday prayers will not take place until further notice. Depending on the success of the first two phases, a decision will be made to reopen the prohibited sectors.

The pandemic has not yet peaked in the United Kingdom. Therefore, exit restrictions are not expected to be relaxed. The same applies to FRANCE, where experts repeatedly emphasize that the time is not yet right to think about relaxation.

In the United States, where more than 22,000 deaths have been reported, more than in any other country in the world, on Monday, relaxation has not yet been decided. President Donald Trump is expected to present a panel of experts Tuesday to advise on when and how the country can return to normal operations. Trump is in a hurry, especially as the United States economy is suffering severely from the current stalemate. But he wants to get expert advice from different parts of the country. “It is by far the most important decision of my life,” said the President of the United States.

Currently there are no specific hours in Southeast Europe. SLOVENIA was the most daring: Prime Minister Janez Jansa announced a week ago that the restart of industrial and commercial companies, parts of the service sector, retail and public transport is being examined. In SERBIA, President Aleksandar Vucic said on Monday that the state of emergency, with particularly rigorous measures, could be lifted in late April or May. And in CROATIA, the government loosened some measures a little before Easter: stores are now allowed to stay open a little longer, some markets have opened. No further relaxation is planned.

AFRIKA registered the first cases of Corona with a long delay in the rest of the world. The number of cases on the continent is still manageable with almost 14,000 confirmed infections and around 750 deaths. Many African governments have reacted quickly and decisively: meanwhile, there are stricter restrictions in almost all countries. South Africa, for example, has just extended its ban on smoking, alcohol and tobacco in two weeks in late March, and neighboring Botswana has extended its national emergency in six months. The exception on the mainland is Tanzania: President John Magufuli has so far dropped the ban on leaving and leaves the country’s borders open.

Trump himself publicly maintained until early March that the virus was not a cause for concern for the United States.

Instead, it focused on protecting the economy and rejecting the warnings.
