Assassin’s Creed Valhalla It is ditching traditional side quests and replacing them with “World Events,” Ubisoft confirmed.
Speaking to GameSpot ahead of yesterday’s game reveal at Ubisoft Forward, Valhalla narrative director Darby McDevitt confirmed that side missions are “almost non-existent” in the latest installment of the open-world action series.
Instead, McDevitt says, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will focus more on what Ubisoft calls “World Events,” which are more spontaneous activities that lie outside of the main campaign and don’t necessarily fit the traditional structure of a typical secondary search. .
This will be good news for those who didn’t enjoy Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s list of inflated and constantly expanding side quests, many of which had to be completed to progress your character in numerous level gates found in their main campaign.
That said, there is a good chance these global events may feel equally overwhelming, so we hope Ubisoft has found a way to ensure that every new extracurricular activity we encounter in the Middle Ages in England is as entertaining as the last.
Valhalla launches for PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS5, and Xbox Series X on November 17 later this year, with a free next-gen update available to anyone who first purchases a copy of the game on their current-gen console.
