Prior to Ubisoft Forward this weekend, nearly 30 minutes of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla gameplay from an earlier version have found their way online.
The footage, being swapped between hosts when Ubisoft tries to remove it from the internet, gives us our first real look at the female version of Eivor, after only the male version appeared in the game’s two recent trailers. The footage spans a lot of terrain, showing off some of the game’s open-world naval gameplay, lots of melee combat, and an assault on Burgh Castle in East Anglia.
The footage is grainy and there are aspects that appear to have been polished before being officially shown, but as a small portion of what you can expect from Valhalla it is a complete leak. Valhalla appears to be retaining many of the structural elements of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, including dialogue options and role-playing aspects that can affect the narrative. Specifically, Eivor has the option of killing or forgiving the occupants of the invading castle, which may or may not be linked to missions later.
The footage was split into three parts and hosted on Streamable, but Ubisoft has been aggressive in trying to remove the footage throughout the day. However, a Reddit thread dedicated to the leak is keeping track of hot links, if you still expect to see it.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be presented at Ubisoft Forward, taking place on July 12 at 12 p.m. PT / 3 p.m. ET. Other games expected on the show are the recently revealed Battle Royale Hyper Scape, as well as Watch Dogs Legion.
