After he is absent from the Dance with the stars stage last season, the pro dancer and new father will return for season 29 of ABC’s long running reality ballroom competition, was announced on Good Morning America Monday, August 24th.
While WSO with whom he will collaborate will remain a mystery until the prize-winning partners are revealed on September 2nd. Behind the scenes, a lot has happened between Chigvintsev and his former roommate-turned-partner, Nikki Bella.
After competing in season 25 in 2017, the two fell in love, got engaged in 2019 and welcomed their first children together on July 31st.
“It has been the most incredible feeling,” Chigvintsev smiled GMA about her new baby boy. “I just did not know I would give so much love. It’s just amazing.”
The first time dad also shared some insight into her first month as a family of three, noting that the baby “actually has us literally.”
“He’s awake every hour and a half and I feel really bad for Nicole because he’s a really good eater,” Chigvintsev explained, “so he’s on it.”

The performer also shared that he calms the cries of his newborn with a ballroom classic. “I grab him by the hands,” he said, “do a little foxtrot around the room and he’s just asleep after sleep.”
Meanwhile, the dancer could not ignore the itching he had to perform again outside his house – although his family will always be on his mind.
“Last season’s sideline realized I really realize how much I really miss the show, miss performing live,” he explained. “I just can’t wait to come back and I want to dedicate this season to my little boy.”
