Consoles are pieces of the living room set. The PS5 looks like it will actually build a room together. I will take the future, W Wall l-eVery large, boring brick up-shared console.
Sean Hollister: I’ve never been a day-one console buyer, always waiting for reviews and ironing of the initial hurdles – and with the PS5 and Xbox series X and S, I think there’s less reason to buy at launch than before. I want to play badly Miles Morales And Horizon: Restricted West, But Sony says I’ll do it on my existing PS4 Pro! Cameron Faulkner: I’m almost absolutely certain that the Xbox Series S can’t do anything that my current PC can’t do better – even though I still want that 9 299 console. I thought that as the console has become like a PC on the inside, equipped with faster processors and – finally, faster – faster PCI based storage, so I’ll go further away from them, as I’m ready on all PC fronts.
Yet, I always draw like the idea of being among the first people to get a Series S. I’m a big fan of GamePass, but beyond that, I think the strategy is to align expectations with the specs of the Micro’s Ftni series S (not on-hyping like it did with the X), and I like all of my Xbox One pay generation controllers. Eventually, however, I turned to PC games, as they were easy to maintain between four years of college and many long-distance moves. Tom Warren: I’ve preerred the PS5, and I’ll preview the Xbox Series S. I discuss getting all three because I’m addicted to games, but I already have a powerful gaming PC that will exclude all Xbox. The Xbox Series S just seems to be something nice to be able to pair with my 1440p monitor and quickly access Xbox games.
Jay Peters: I have a pre-order for the PS5 digital version, and I’m planning to pre-order the Xbox Series S, but if I’m honest enough, I can cancel the PS5 pre-order and stick with the Xbox Series S Am. For the start of this console pay generation.
I just got the PS4 in May and I still have a lot of the list behind it. (I am currently 70 hours old Persona 5 Royal, You would be surprised.) John Porter: I haven’t bought a PS4 until the end of the console’s current pay generation, and if I’m honest with myself, I don’t know when I’ll upgrade. I recently treated my gaming PC with its first new CPU in five years (I jumped from Intel i7-4790 K to Raisin 5 3600), and with its Nvidia RTX 2080 graphics card, I can get a fair experience from most modern games.
That could change if more of them start integrating performance-intensive graphics features like ray-tracing to maintain similarity with next-generation consoles, but even then it would be much easier to turn off hundreds of settings on a PC. Dollars on new equipment.
So for me, the decision on when to upgrade will probably come down to one or two specific games that everyone talks about.
