We know almost everything about Apple’s redesigned iPhone 12, aside from its release date. But now we have it, and it’s a surprise.
Apple’s iPhone 12 Pro is its best design in years: renderings generated by multiple leaks
In an exclusive reveal, Apple Insider iHacktu has revealed that the iPhone 12 lineup will not only launch in time, but will be the first iPhone flagship event in years. Additionally, Apple will use it as the first of a couple of launch events this year that will see new iPhones, iPads, early Apple Silicon Macs, AirPower, and the next generation of Apple Watch.
Breaking this down, iHacktu reveals that Apple will celebrate the launch of iPhone 12 on September 8, only iPhone 7 (September 7) was released earlier since iPhones were moved to a Q3 window almost a decade ago. Along with the new iPhones, insider information says Apple will announce the sixth-generation Apple Watch, a new entry-level iPad, and its long-awaited AirPower wireless charging pad.
Following this, iHacktu claims that Apple will hold a second hardware event on October 27, where it will launch new iPad Pros, Apple’s first silicon-based Macs (MacBook and MacBook Pro), and possibly even Apple Glass. The last of these sounds sounds over the top, but the fourth quarter of 2020 was a date previously revealed by Jon Prosser, arguably the most accurate Apple leak of the year.

However, back at iPhone Land, the real surprise is how Apple has managed to avoid not only a delay, but also accelerate the launch, considering the global manufacturing impact caused by the Coronavirus pandemic. However, what remains to be seen is how limited supply is in the weeks immediately following launch (a date yet to be confirmed) with earlier reports saying the units may be in short supply through November.
Either way, expect the iPhone 12 line to sell like hot cakes. Despite recent concerns about its display limitations and reduced battery capacity, the lineup will be Apple’s first iPhone 5G (in two variants), offering the biggest design change in three generations, offering four models with two new ones. completely new screen sizes, camera Technology and prices lower than rival prices for the first time in iPhone history.
